Male Rock Wrasse, Halichoeres semicinctus

The Rock Wrasse can be found in rocky and sandy tidepools from the Gulf of California, Mexico to Point Conception, California. It forages for gastropods and small crustaceans during the day and sleeps burrowed in the sand at night.
